President Shirley Adams called the tent meeting to order at 7:30 PM Wednesday April 5, 2006 at the Showfolks Club. A short business meeting was held with an election of tent officers for the 2006-2007 tent season.
The following tent officers were elected:
- President Shirley Adams
- Vice President Rudy
Gebhardt
- Secretary/Treasurer Lynn
Schinkel
President Adams asked for volunteers to serve the tent on a
budget comittee. The tent was also looking for volunteers to work at the
Sarasota Sailor Youth Circus for the next few days to sell concessions at each
remaining performance. During the
business meeting a slide show was running, showing some of the 1,400+ photos
residing in the photo section of the CFA Web Site. President Adams noted that the evening’s
speakers had started giving “handouts” too early in the meeting!
There was a presentation by CFA Webmaster Tom Sokolis and Editor Joe DeMike
giving the audience a short tour of the CFA Web Site. The tent was asked
to submit news, events and photos to the web site. The tent members were asked to write articles
for the resource section of the site about their circus experiences and
memories.
The meeting concluded with snacks and a large raffle of
circus items.
