The Windjammers convention with two major concerts, a performance of Sailor Circus, the Ring of Fame induction, CMB displays and opening days of the Tibbals Learning Center at the John and Mabel Museum of Art are some of the high lights of the last 30 days in Sarasota. It was fitting that the Charlie Smith Tent Lunch cap off the visit of some of our members in Sarasota for all these activities. The Sarasota Cay Club was the setting for the Monday January 30, 2006 Annual Lunch of Charlie Smith Tent 131. The meeting was attended by a large group of show folks and fans. It was remarkable that there were 7 members of the Sarasota Ring of Fame in attendance (including Charlie Smith). Charlie and Kitty are ready for lunch at the Sarasta Cay Club.

Comments from David Strong:
Hello CFA members!
My name is David
W. Strong. I now reside in Denver Colorado, but on a recent visit to Florida
had the good fortune to attend, with my family, the Charlie Smith Tent
Luncheon. My parents are Bill & Trudy Strong. My family is the Wilson's.
I attended with my mother and father, my brother Steven Strong and my aunt
Penny Wilson. My brother and I have been out of the business for sometime
now. We both now work in the motion picture industry. It was a great
pleasure meeting and catching up with everyone there. Especially meeting
Charlie, who knew my grandfather, Dime Wilson, as did many of you. My family
speaks very fondly of Charlie and Kitty and I knew that to be true the
moment I was greeted with a great smile and a handshake from Charlie.
It was also a pleasure meeting David Orr, who I
understand is a great force in the movement against the misinformation about
the treatment of animals in the circus. This subject touches mine and many
other families in the business deeply. Thank you David and thank you OABA
for all you do.
I have been absent from the
business many years, but the circus life will never be absent from my heart.
Thanks for being fans and supporting one of the few, true, arts left in our
country.
Sincerely, David W. Strong TwoStrongProductions
