William "Buckles" Woodcock Jr to be featured at Baraboo Circus Days Weekend

eeBARABOO CIRCUS DAYS features William “Buckles” Woodcock Jr. Buckles Woodcock Jr. will be featured at this years Baraboo Circus Days Weekend.

The Gollmar-Moeller-Ringling Tent #100 of the CFA and the support group of the Circus World Museum, Circus World Museum, Inc. through the help of Randy Peterson are combining to bring to Baraboo a grand and glorious circus weekend.

May 19th through May 21st will be alive with circus history in Baraboo. 

  • Thursday Evening - Beginning on Thursday evening May 19th the G-M-R Tent will have their monthly meeting at the Al Ringling Mansion (Elks Club) at 7:30 PM with all CFA members and friends welcome.
  • Friday morning - all circus enthusiasts will gather at 9:00 AM on the Courthouse Square at the Baraboo Circus Memorial Wall. Father Charles Schluter will offer a memorial service with other historical excerpts and offerings. Coffee and Donuts will follow along with time for jackpots.
  • Friday afternoon - 3:00 PM, will bring a visit to the old Gollmar Winterquarters area at Mary Roundtree Park at 700 2nd Avenue. A description and information on the Gollmar Show and its Baraboo home will be offered by Gollmar family members and historians.
  • Friday Night - The Annual Banquet of the G-M-R CFA Tent (reservations required) honoring the opening of the outdoor season of the Circus World Museum will commence with a social at 6:30 PM followed by the Dinner and this years featured speaker, Buckles Woodcock. Coming to us all the way from Florida to meet with friends and fans, Buckles will offer tales and stories of his life with elephants and the circus.
  • Saturday morning - brings the opening of the summer season of Circus World. Everyone will gather for the Big Top show, other activities and attractions on the grounds during the day. At 12:30 PM on the grounds of Circus World will be a Wisconsin State CFA get-together before the Razzel Dazzel show.
  • Saturday evening - at 5:30PM all Circus World Museum, Inc members and any other interested circus enthusiasts are invited to gather at the Opera House above the Corner Drug Store on the Square in downtown Baraboo for their Annual Meeting. The meeting will be followed by a social and jackpots with Buckles Woodcock visiting with old and new friends. Complimentary refreshments will be served to top off this fantastic weekend of circus fun and friends.
