Bluch Landolf & Fr. Jack Toner Tent #24/Hartford, CT announces that it's feature speaker for the annual banquet will be Mr. Rick Davey of the Hartford, CT fire department.
Mr. Davey will speak about the July 6, 1944 Hartford Circus Fire as well as efforts to raise a memorial monument to the fire victims on the site of the horrific event.
You can support the Fire memorial by "buying" a paving brick for the walkway. Each brick supports three lines of inscription, 16 characters per line. For an informational brochure, contact Gary Payne . Don't delay - do it today! At this time it is uncertain whether the memorial will be built this year, or if there will be a July ground breaking ceremony, but the monument WILL be built.
Banquet will take place at the usual venue, J. Timothy's, Plainville, CT, just south of Hartford. Banquet tickets can be had by calling Gary Payne at 860-833-7925, or Emailing Gary @ ptgcp@aol.com. Gary will send you the banquet brochure with complete information, which is being put together now. Contributions are being solicited for a teacup auction of circus memorabilia, attendees should bring an item of memorabilia for the table, and a few dollars to invest!
